environment event sculpture

At Belle Balloons, we are commited to sustainability and responsible use of our balloons. We believe that joy should not come at the cost of the environment.

We use latex balloons, a natural based product.

  • Latex is not plastic
  • We use high quality latex. The cheaper balloons are cut with plastic.
  • It’s a natural, plant based product.
  • Latex is extracted without harming the rubber tree.
  • Trees in the rubber industry significantly contribute to the world’s tree canopy, vital in combatting climate change.

Sustainable plantations

Our balloon manufacturer sources their latex from sustainable Rainforest Alliance Certified and Forest Stewardship Council Plantations. This contributes to building healthy forests, thriving communities and fights climate change.

Responsable balloon disposal

Join us in celebrating responsibly with our balloon recycling program.

Balloon disposal and recycling.

We encourage responsible disposal of balloons and offer a recycling program with TerraCycle.

Our recycling services

Customers can choose between a post-event pickup or dropping un-inflated balloons at our warehouse in East Brunswick.

Re-use, repurpose & recycle

The program recycles balloons into raw materials for manufacturing, creating new products like springs and flooring, reducing landfill waste.

We have a strict policy to not provide balloons for any events that intend to release them into the environment. Balloons are never supplied to clients on strings.

We’re very aware of the impact that balloons can have if they are released into the environment and ingested by our wildlife.

ENVIRONMENTAL TIPS

Helping you to be environmentally responsible with balloons at your event

Installation removal by us

Belle Balloons can remove your installation and ensure that the balloons are recycled through our partnership with TerraCycle.

If you remove the installation

If you remove the installation our team will encourage you to drop off the un-inflated balloons to our warehouse for recycling and to never let them fly free into the environment.

Avoid balloons in the open air

Avoid having helium balloons in the open as you run the risk of them getting loose and escaping.

Pro Environment Balloon Alliance (PEBA) Membership
As members, we comply with their industry standards by keeping balloons attached to weights and never releasing balloons them into the air. Ensuring a controlled disposal after the event is just as important as the set up. PEBA aims to make Australia ‘The First Balloon Release Free Continent’ in the world.
